About
Welcome to Binga Beach Resort, where dreams meet dedication. Founded by a diverse team of four lifelong friends—two Texans, one British, and Filipino—each bringing decades of expertise in hospitality, cybersecurity, global business, and economic journalism. Our journey began with a shared vision to create a sustainable haven on Palawan's Lumambong Beach, nestled between El Nido and Port Barton.
Since 2019, we've navigated SEC regulations, secured land acquisitions, and ensured environmental compliance to establish Palawan's first boutique glamping resort. Named after the pristine and secluded Barangay Binga, our resort stands as a testament to our commitment to environmental stewardship and community support in the soon to be active Cluster 3 tourism sector.
Supported by a dedicated team of architects, environmental planners, accountants, hospitality experts, and environmental lawyers, alongside strong partnerships with LGU and TIEZA officials, we've pioneered responsible tourism in this untouched paradise. As proud permit owners and pioneers in this area, we're expanding our sustainable vision to foster a thriving environment and community in Minapalya Sound.
Join us at Binga Beach Resort and be part of our journey towards a sustainable future.
What and Where is Binga Beach?
Nestled in a hidden and pristine corner of Palawan, Binga Beach is more than just an upcoming boutique resort—it’s a gateway to adventure, off-the-beaten-path exploration, and serene natural beauty. Although still in development and set to open in mid-2020, Binga Beach offers more than luxury glamping. It’s a piece of paradise, unknown to many, even to the residents of Palawan. Located on Lumambong Beach, in the small, quiet barangay of Binga, this destination is a hidden gem that has managed to remain under the radar, despite its breathtaking beauty.
Discovering Lumambong Beach: Why Is It So Unknown?
It might surprise some that even many locals have not yet discovered Lumambong Beach, a stunning, secluded stretch of sand in northern Palawan. But it makes sense when you consider Palawan’s size and the sheer number of gorgeous beaches scattered across the island. From Lumambong Beach to the famous Long Beach in San Vicente, the western coast is dotted with at least ten smaller, lesser-known beaches, each offering its own unique charm. While these beaches have slowly become known to more adventurous travelers, Lumambong has remained somewhat of a secret.
One major reason Lumambong Beach and the surrounding Binga area have stayed under the radar is due to accessibility—or rather, the lack of it until recently. For years, travelers had to endure rough, bumpy roads that stretched travel time to several hours. However, significant road improvements in 2018 have dramatically cut down travel time, making the journey to this part of Palawan much easier. And with the new San Vicente airport just 45 minutes away from Binga Beach, the whole region is now more accessible than ever before.
Binga Beach: Our Hidden Corner of Palawan
Although the resort is called Binga Beach, the actual beach it sits on is known as Lumambong Beach. The name "Binga" comes from the barangay (village) in which the resort is located—a small, quiet fishing and farming community that feels a world away from the more popular tourist destinations like El Nido or Port Barton. The village of Binga, with only around 90 families, is quaint and serene, and its quietness adds to the charm of the area.
Adding to the area’s charm is its topography. The region is home to Binga Bay, which is part of the larger Imuaran Bay, and features a landscape of rolling hills, coconut palms, and a stunning mangrove creek running through the resort’s property. Just south of Binga Beach lies the majestic Mount Capoas, towering at 1,012 meters (3,313 feet), the tallest mountain in northern Palawan. The mountain’s presence not only adds to the stunning backdrop but also helps channel cooling breezes down to the beach, offering a refreshing respite from the tropical heat.
Nature’s Playground: Binga Beach’s Natural Features
While the rest of Palawan is known for its flat, sandy beaches, Binga Beach offers something a little different. Lumambong Beach is a wide, expansive stretch of white sand, cool to the touch even during the hottest days. The beach’s high berm and second-level dune offer several elevated vantage points for taking in the ocean views. The calm waters make it ideal for swimming, kayaking, or even learning to kitesurf—although you won’t find any surfers here, as the waves are gentle and welcoming, much like a natural swimming pool.
One of the most special features of our resort is its environment-friendly design. With no municipal power lines, sewage systems, or water supply in the area, Binga Beach Resort operates entirely off-grid. We have harnessed solar and wind power for electricity, and we use advanced septic systems along with a meticulously treated water supply to ensure we leave as little environmental impact as possible. It’s a challenging way to build and operate a resort, but it’s one that we’re proud of. Sustainability is at the core of what we do, and being off-grid gives us the opportunity to operate in harmony with nature.
A Warm Welcome: The Heart of Binga Beach
Beyond its natural beauty, Binga Beach stands out for its warm, welcoming community. The residents of Barangay Binga have a reputation for being open-hearted and generous, and they’ve embraced us with open arms. The history of this village is equally touching. Much of the land in Binga was owned by the Distal family, who moved here from El Nido in the 1960s. When their parents passed away, they left portions of the land to their children. We were fortunate to acquire a piece of this land from one of the sons, and now we’ve become a part of this close-knit community.
Our resort is positioned at the northern end of Lumambong Beach, one of the most beautiful spots in the area. With its fine white sands, shaded by tall, mature coconut palms, and the soothing sound of the waves lapping gently against the shore, Binga Beach is the perfect place for those seeking tranquility, adventure, and a connection with nature.
Looking Forward: A New Chapter for Binga Beach
As we approach our grand opening, we are excited to share Binga Beach with the world. For travelers seeking an alternative to the crowded hotspots of Palawan, Binga Beach offers a remote, peaceful escape. The breathtaking landscapes, off-grid living, and community spirit are what make this place special. As a resort built on sustainability and harmony with nature, we hope to provide our guests with an authentic and unforgettable experience. Whether it’s the towering presence of Mount Capoas, the gentle waves of Lumambong Beach, or the welcoming smiles of the local community, Binga Beach is sure to leave a lasting impression.
